Accurate time settings on your terminal are essential for maintaining both security and efficient operations. When the time is set incorrectly, it can lead to unforeseen errors and issues that may appear unrelated.
Is your terminal time incorrect?
Is your terminal displaying a 'System Time Is Incorrect...' message?
Does your terminal intermittently display an 'Offline' message?
Is your terminal having unexpected behavior?
Follow the steps in this article to ensure your terminal time is in sync.
Verify & Correct Terminal Time Settings

Go to the terminal Home screen (You may need to exit the Zift application).

Open Settings.
The app is typically in the Tools folder on the home screen -
Scroll down and select the Date & Time settings.

Ensure Automatic Date & Time is ON.
This setting should be grayed out and not editable. Ensure that it is toggled on. -
Use Automatic Time Zone.
If Select time zone does not have your correct time zone selected:- Disable the Automatic time zone and set the time zone to the correct setting:

Select the NTP Servers button:

Check the current value located under Change NTP Server:
If the value is not set to time.nist.gov:-
Select the Change NTP Server button:

Change the value to
time.nist.gov
and press OK.

Tap Refresh and confirm that the correct time appears.

Select the 3 horizontal bars button:
- Click the X button below the applications to close all open applications:
This should close all open applications and take you back to the desktop - Reopen the Zift application.

Check to see if the "Offline" label is gone and that you are able to run a transaction on the terminal.
